Profession Opinions

IMHO, spend your first points for herbalism or mining in 40 into [ botany ] or 35 into [ mining process ] so that you can gather while mounted.  I hate that the skinning trainer is standing immediately behind one of the leatherworking tables. I am constantly clicking on them.  I 100% agree with everyone that says the fishing profession needs a hat slot. We may need a secondary equipment slot for toons with a fishing ring.  I wish the crafting orders system worked 'better'. To complete "# of (profession) crafting orders" quests, my default is to go to my bank toon, and order low-level items. Gimme 3 bolts of cloth, or 2 handfuls of bolts, or 3 'profession equipment'. I sort of wish that when I specify a personal order, I could see their available recipes. Oh, look my hunter can make ___, lets's order 3 of those? My bank toon could order profitable items, not just garbage fillers.  Leveling engineering is dreadful. Creating 1 middle-level item, requires 1 ra

Dragon High Flying

Image
My first Dragon Flight update. Tuesday routine:  Check Great vault for my M+ item.   Pick up Catalyst quest  Pick up fill-the-bar 'aiding the accord' quest. Pick up weekly event quest (as long as not pvp, or pet battles).  Pick up profession quests (there are about 4), 2 from trainers, 2 from the Artisan's Consortium(?) Pick up and turn in mettle quest. Pick up 2 rep relic quests (turn in titan relics while there) Pick up the elemental shard quest Find and kill the world boss See if Storm's event is going on (this week world boss is in the primal future so 2-fer). Check timing on the 'fill-the-bar' community item (hunt this week), while flying out to say hi to Sabellian (already buds with Wrathion). Farm key fragments for 1 key. Turn in any totems, titan relics, etc that were saved from last week. Immediately closing that fill-the-bar quest. Repeat with alt, and the catalyst quest will complete.  Refresh a contract for free 100 rep!? None of my characters are ex

Horde Rush!

With the announcement of 9.2.5, Alliance guilds everywhere are experiencing a horror show! Alliance toons are jumping ship to get a slight benefit in raiding. Many are simply faction swapping their current high-level toon, with a horde race of the same toon.  Void Elf Enervati => Orc Elkagorasa Fortunately, there are so many advances to leveling up a toon! Using Chromie Time, players can choose what expansion they want to level in. A lower max level cap means only half the number of levels to quest. Queueing for dungeons is less painful as it's possible to run a dungeon with 10-50 level characters, not just a tight band (ie level 40-50) of players.  What class? Pick a class you want to play. If you're spinning up a new character, maybe it's time to try out something new. While starting warlock over again will mean you know the rotation, Warcraft has a number of options that might also be fun.  If having a hard time between two classes, try the multi-spec option.

Patch 9.3 Chromie Crisis

Image
The bronze dragon, Chromie is still suffering from the events that lead to her many deaths during the Legion invasion. She's fatigued from keeping up access for champions to adventure in the many different timelines. In 9.3, we will adventure into an ever-changing timeline with zones phasing between classic (including season of mastery realms), vanilla (pre-cataclysm), post-cataclysm, and a future alternate reality where the Iron Horde was successful in conquering Azeroth. Characters will phase randomly into various timelines as they are playing through a series of  'What-if' type scenarios.  Some of the possibilities include: Argus never fell to Burning Legion. Quest alongside Velen to perform daily tasks.  Players turn 'evil' after killing the end raid boss of select raids. Your raid team is allowed to hire raid boss' minions and take over the raid environment. The objective is to keep the raid under your control for as long as possible against other raid grou

9.1.5 Shadowlands Leveling and Gearing

Image
This time, I leveled a druid.  This was a really fun change of pace, being able to swap between melee, tank, and ranged DPS as necessary (except for this one time, tbd later). Even better was jumping into cat, or travel form when inside and couldn't normally mount. Travel form magically upgrades right before (like at 38 instead of 40) learning the newest riding speed, so always fastest self-running.  Gear & Enchants: Leveling gear consisted of all leather-agility-haste, heirlooms where available. Upgraded a number of items to the shadowlands editions so that I could continue getting heirloom benefits up until 50.  Enchants were a bit more pragmatic. I was fine spending a bit of gold on a leveling enchant on an heirloom item. I was not fine spending that same amount on a green leveling item.  Pretty detailed guide: Wowhead Path: For leveling, I followed Azeroth Auto-Pilot and played through WOD content until I got to roughly 30s. At this point, I flipped over to Legion leveling

Can't Stop this .. Waiting.

I took so long to publish on this post that 9.1 dropped. Spent the last few weeks getting into the content so this is slightly outdated, but still slightly useful.  So, rumor has it that 9.1 will drop. Eventually. Probably this year. I swear! I've heard it from all those talking heads people. My favorite theory has it dropping the last week of June. Nothing like a major US holiday weekend to deal with troubleshooting the first large patch of the expansion. Hmmm..  In the meantime, it has allowed me to get the Mythic+ achievement for +10 or better dungeons. My hunter is sporting 200-226 level gear. My alliance warlock has reached 190s and is working on a few low-level mythic dungeons.  So, what do I do instead? Start an alt. Just started a new warlock on Stormrage. Enervati - the one who causes enervation - a feeling of being drained of energy or vitality; fatigue. I was considering a character move to Stormrage to join " The Turtles " over there, but there already was

Happy 2021 - Throne of the Lich King

Shadowlands is upon us and I have exactly 1 max level characters. I would love to play some of my many other characters, but I don't feel capable until I get my first hunter's legendary created. Sadly the two "memories" that are considered BIS  for BM hunters drop randomly from a dungeon. Update: I was finally able to grab a memory by running a M+7 Spires of Ascencion with friends.  The legendary creation tool is very novel. Pick a gear slot, combine with 1 ability, add 2 secondary stats, stir in a base item and some ash for glue and you have an i200 piece of gear!  I feel so behind the curve in gear and story plot. I played the opening slowly, now I feel 'everyone' is completing content several levels harder than I could successfully attempt.  Torghast Layer 3 feels like a struggle that I barely completed. Torghast - RNG dungeon layout with RNG powerups sprinkled throughout.  LFR Castle Nathria's first 3 bosses are interesting. Some new mechanics. Gearin
